The Emergent Procedures Instructional Collaboration was created in 2007 by Ernest Wang, MD and the Division of Emergency Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem formerly Evanston Northwestern Healthcare) in Evanston, IL, with the purpose of developing instructional content for its emergency medicine residency at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and its practitioners.  In July 2009, we will affiliate with the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine as our new  partner in medical education.

We believe that procedural competence is achieved over time with deliberate practice and constructive feedback. See our video for our reflections on simulation education.
